SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the daily manufacturing of parts requiring grinding
processing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up and operate multi-axis grinder with or without live tooling and associated
machine control system modifying the various parameters as per program.
In an automated and pre-loaded setup operate multiple machines if so directed.
Report immediately any changes made to programs, tools, and methods to
Supervision.
Optimize times and routines, report setup times and cycle times at the end of the job.
Ensure cleanliness and efficiency of the machine, perform daily inspections on the
machine.
Review material, parts, tools, programs, instruments ahead of the job.
Confirm manufacturing technology and request immediate support whenever
needed.
Ensure that all jobs, materials and parts near your station are properly identified.
Ensure that all instruments are working properly and calibrated, report any problems
to QC.
Prepare setup for request of a first-off inspection either by an Inspector or
Supervision.
Execute the assigned manufacturing job(s) on the assigned CNC machine(s).
Clean and debur parts as well as possible before passing to next operation or station.
Verify completed parts to ensure they are complying with customer requirements.
Maintain traceability of job, materials and parts, and keeping separation between
jobs.
Complete the required documentation such as travellers and in-process checks.
Report any scrap or left-over materials or parts; apply appropriate tags to deviated
parts.
Ensure that all jobs, material and parts leaving your station are properly completed.
Know and follow the procedures of the Production department.
REQUIREMENTS (see job classification for required level of experience):
Post-secondary education desired.
Has the necessary computer skills.
Knowledge of manual and CNC grinding operation and respective required tooling.
Basic understanding of GD&T.
Knowledge of CAM files and post processor codes.
Ability to read manufacturing drawings and use calibrated instruments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving
mechanical parts, electrical equipment, and chemical solutions.
Occasionally exposed to temperature changes.
Constant exposure to noise.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and
stoop or crouch.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and
occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
Required to work long hours, be available on weekends, and work in shifts.
