Quality Assurance Specialist – System

Summary:
The system Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the Quality Management System (QMS) reflects regulatory, customer, internal and AS 9100 requirements, this includes scheduling and performing audits of the the QMS for compliance and initiates Corrective Actions for nonconformities.
The Quality Assurance Specialist is also responsible for the management of regulatory and/or customer auditors and, in conjunction with the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement, the resolution of findings/observations raised as a results of such audits. The Quality Assurance Specialist reports to the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement and works directly with Program, Operations, Engineering and Human Resources Management to ensure the appropriate training has been carried out in each of these disciplines
Responsibilities:
Review and update the QMS system for compliance with regulatory, customer,
corporate and company.
Implement new or revised requirements and provide training to applicable company
employees.
Develop and produce audit sheet to demonstrate compliance to the QMS.
Audit the QMS system and produce audit report.
Initiate and monitor Corrective Action System.
Coordinate external audit requirements with appropriate department managers.
Present audit findings during monthly Senior Management Meeting
Present Corrective Action status and report on effectiveness of Corrective Actions implemented during monthly Senior Management Meeting.
Lead or Co-lead Corrective Action Boards.
Monitor Transport Canada Website for regulatory that may impact the QMS.
Monitor the OASIS database for customer and registrar feedback.
Provide coaching and mentoring to other team members.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent combination of training and experience, preferably in an electrical, mechanical environment .
Three to Five years’ experience with comprehensive Quality Management Systems preferably AS9100.
Familiarity with Regulatory requirements is an asset, preferably Canadian Aviation Regulations.
Certified Quality Auditor.
Required Skills:
Root cause and corrective action practices.
Solid knowledge of quality assurance and regulatory requirements.
Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and e-mail
Excellent analytical, strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to effectively handle conflicting priorities with limited supervision.
Effective and professional team player, interpersonal awareness.
Able to effectively manage multiple tasks and timelines.
Highly adaptable to a fast paced and dynamic work environment
